Easter

My first Easter in Ecuador was very interesting. The bottom three photographs were taken on Good Friday, when we went to see the "Cucuruchu" procession in downtown Quito. People in this pocession walk, often without shoes, through the hot city streets and some carry crosses. They try to feel the pain Jesus went through and it was very moving to see. Some of the crosses were whole tree trunks! (The umbrellas you can see in the crowds are to shade people from the sun, not to shelter from the rain!!). The top photo shows our Easter Sunday lunch, when we had Oswaldo's family over to our home. We hope that you all had a wonderful Easter!
